Ola Leaf ~ 2025!

Hello to My Readers, Followers and Blogging Friend ❤

Hope You are keeping well. Today I am going to write about a complete different Topic that hardly anyone knows about, it is about “”Ola Leaf” “Ola leaf is a palm leaf used for writing in traditional palm-leaf manuscripts and in fortune telling (horoscopes) in Southern India[ and Sri Lanka

The leaves are from the talipot tree, a type of palm, and fortunes are written on them from ancient times and read by specialist fortune tellers. It is believed that three thousand years ago the seven rishis or, sages, wrote on the leaves. The National Library of Sri Lanka holds an ola-leaf manuscript collection.

Sacred Buddhist texts from Tibet, made in the old manner – on narrow horizontal strips of paper, written in Tibetan.

Composition

[edit]

Sinhala letters are round-shaped and are written from left to right. They are the most circular-shaped script found in the Indic scripts. The evolution of the script to the present shapes may have taken place due to writing on ola leaves. The ground of a text more or less determines the way it is written down. Unlike chiseling on a rock for example, writing on palm leaves has to be more round-shaped to avoid the stylus ripping the palm leaf while writing on it. When drawing vertical or horizontal straight lines on Ola leaf, the leaves would have been even torn. Periods and commas were later introduced into Sinhala script after the introduction of paper due to the influence of Western language.

The word Ola derives from the Tamil word Ōlai, meaning palm leaf.

Description

It is one of the largest palms with individual specimens having reached heights of up to 25 m (82 ft) with stems up to 1.3 m (4.3 ft) in diameter. It is a fan palm (Aceraceae tribe Coryphaei), with large, palmate leaves up to 5 m (16 ft) in diameter, with a petiole up to 4 m (13 ft)..

The talipot palm bears the largest inflorescence of any plant, 6–8 m (20–26 ft) long, consisting of one to several million small flowers borne on a branched stalk that forms at the top of the trunk (the titan arum, from the family Araceae, has the largest unbranched inflorescence, and the species has the world’s largest single flower). The talipot palm is flowering only once, when it is 30 to 80 years old. It takes about a year for the fruit to mature, producing thousands of rounds, yellow-green fruit 3–4 cm (1–1.5 in) in diameter, each containing a single seed.

Distribution

The talipot palm is cultivated in South India and Sri Lanka. It is also cultivated in Southeast Asian countries of CambodiaMyanmarThailand and the Andaman Islands. It is also grown sparsely in China.

This is a very rare information which even I have gone into details and found new information. I am sure you have seen the tree and Ola leaves itself written in different Languages. Happy Reading 🙂

November Birthstone ~ 2025!

Hello to All My Dear Readers Followers and Blogging Friends ❤

Hope You are keeping well. Today I am going to write about November Birthstone is Citrine. Those with November birthdays have two beautiful birthstones to choose from: topaz and citrine. Topaz comes in a rainbow of colors; citrine is prized for its charming yellow and orange hues. Both November birthstones are known to have calming energies while bringing fortune and warmth to the wearer.

Most topaz and citrine birthstones are affordably priced, as good-quality gems are not as rare as for many of their counterparts. This means that those born in November have many options to choose from. Your challenge will be deciding which one to pick.

The variety of topaz hues includes colorless, light blue, yellow, orange, pink, violet, brown and, very rarely, red. The vast majority of blue topaz seen today is the permanent result of treating colorless topaz with irradiation and heating. The rainbow effect seen in “Mystic Topaz” is created by coating colorless topaz with a thin artificial film.

Topaz Birthstone Meaning & History

The variety of topaz hues includes colorless, light blue, yellow, orange, pink, violet, brown and, very rarely, red. The vast majority of blue topaz seen today is the permanent result of treating colorless topaz with irradiation and heating. The rainbow effect seen in “Mystic Topaz” is created by coating colorless topaz with a thin artificial film.

Some believe the word “topaz” comes from the Sanskrit word tapas, which means “fire.” Others trace it back to the Greek topazos. This November birthstone was long thought to have many benefits. The ancient Greeks believed that topaz gave them strength. From the 1300s to the 1600s, Europeans thought it could thwart magic spells and dispel anger. For centuries, many people in India have believed that topaz worn above the heart assures long life, beauty and intelligence.

The distinctly pinkish orange Imperial topaz has aristocratic cachet. It is commonly believed that the name was royal family’s insistence keeping the finest colors of this gem, which was mined in Ural Mountains, exclusively for their use. An alternate explanation, especially popular in Brazil, the town closest to Brazil’s most productive topaz mines.

August Birthstone ~ 2025!

Hello to All My Dear Readers Followers and Blogging Friends ❤

Hope You are keeping well. Today I am going to write about August Birthstone. Which is mainly Green colour and Green is my favorite colour. Also Green is a Balancing colour which is everywhere in Mother earth in trees and plants everywhere. Which is Purity its main quality 🙂

Peridot (/ˈpɛrɪˌdɒt, -ˌdoʊ/ PERR-ih-dot, -doh), sometimes called chrysolite, is a yellow-green transparent variety of olivine. Peridot is one of the few gemstones that occur in only one color.

Peridot can be found in rocks occurring in lava. The gem occurs in silica-deficient rocks such as volcanic meteorites. Along with diamonds, peridot is one of only two gems observed to be formed not in Earth’s crust,. Gem-quality peridot is rare on Earth’s surface.

Peridots can be differentiated by size and composition. A peridot formed as a result of volcanic activity tends to contain higher concentrations of lithium, nickel and zinc than those found in meteorites.

Peridot is one of the few gemstones that occur in only one color: an olive-green. The intensity and tint of the green, however, depends on the percentage of iron in the crystal structure, so the color of individual peridot gems can vary from yellow, to olive, to brownish-green. In rare cases, peridot may have a medium-dark toned, pure green with no secondary yellow hue or brown mask. Lighter-colored gems are due to lower iron concentrations.

Peridot has been prized since the earliest civilizations for its claimed protective powers. There is a belief that it carries the gift of “inner radiance”, sharpening the mind and opening it to new levels of awareness and growth, helping one to recognize and realize one’s destiny and spiritual purpose. Peridot has often been mistaken for emerald beryl and other green gems.
“Although some good olive-colored crystals are found in a few other places, like Burma, China, Zambia, and Pakistan, ninety percent of all known peridots are found in just one place. It is a Native American reservation, and it is located in a little-visited corner of the United States.
