End The Stigma ~ Discrimination Stops with You!

Hello To My Dear Readers ❤

Stigma 14

I hope you all enjoyed reading the first two articles on the chakras. I am taking a break and writing on a very important topic which is about the, “Stigma in Mental Health” The reason I thought of writing this topic is, now after almost 5 years since it was declared that, “I have come back to normal”, there are some who are still trying to classify me as unwell. The disappointing fact is, this is to do with some people whom I thought knew me very well, that are like family, that my eye went to this quote. These people seems not to have, “Any sort of experiences, knowledge and are clueless about mental health to know that, “I have come so far in attaining knowledge not only on mental health and also on other matters in life. And now that, “I am mentally healthy and also a motivator” I cannot understand how some can see me otherwise!

*IF YOU THINK YOU ARE MENTALLY WELL JUST SPEND ONE DAY WITH YOUR FAMILY*

I have written before too, that millions world over are going through depression and other mental health problems. And the world Health Organisation has stated that depression will be the biggest cause of health burden by 2030!

Stigma 13

In Australia alone, one is seven experience major depression in their life time. But 70% of them will not seek treatment. One of the main reasons for this is the stigma. This is actually common almost world over. But why does it have to be different from being physically sick?

Stigma 8
When there are even Royalty and World leaders who support and work towards improving mental health and acknowledge mental illness are also, just like physical illnesses, there are some others even highly educated, who are foolish enough to be ignorant of what mental illnesses are. And this is what is causing the stigma and preventing people seeking medical help to get themselves better!

Stigma 1
There are so many who suffer from various physical illnesses. They do get better and overcome them, even cancer goes into remission and then they go about as normal human beings. Then Why? when the mind becomes ill and becomes well and/or goes into remission they can never get over the label as mentally ill? Mind is also part of the body, it is not outside floating somewhere! Why cannot people as human beings with good brain power cannot think of this?

Stigma 7
As someone who has completely overcome, why I am writing is, to do my duty even in a small way, in standing up for those who are going through their own problems. As, if as many as those who can speak out on behalf of the people who are in need of support and enlighten the society, the world what mental issues are, the world will be a better place with more healthy and happy people 🙂

Stigma 11
Are you ready to support? To stand up? Or are you one of those who try to push and see others fall? But the fact is, we are all connected. All of us are energy and one goes down it affects all the others like the ripples in the water. Why is it that some are unable to support others and see them rise up? As, “We Rise by Lifting Others” Are you Ready to support to, “Stop the Stigma”? We are all soul brothers and sisters. One family that belongs to each other!

    1. Thank you so much Brittany for your appreciation of the article. Yes I hope too that, there will be some who will be inspired and encouraged to seek out help and also feel that they are normal human beings, just like any other. The exact reason I am doing the site. I am so very grateful when people comment, as then I am able to know how I am doing and encouraged to do more and better. How are you all keeping. May God’s Blessings be upon you All. Many Blessings of Love, Light and Healing Energies from me 🙂 ❤

  1. This is a wonderful post and I hope more people read it. Very true, mental health is the same as physical and yet so many people treat those who mention they have mental health problems as somehow not being normal, or just tell them to get over it. I’ve experienced a lot of stigma in my time having depression. I do believe like you though that people can overcome their mental illness. I have never liked saying I have depression when I have been well, I have had times where I get worse and then return to normal but that stigma of being permanently ill is horrible. Please don’t let those people upset you in your life. You have overcome a very bad time in your life and sometimes people enjoy commenting or being horrible to others. It says more about them than about you. Take care and stay happy ❤ ❤ 🙂

    1. What a wonderful appreciation, I am honoured! I only knew about your book reviewing site and was completely unaware of your other site. I came across it only today and didn’t know you had any issues on depression. I am following it from today, and will read through slowly. Yes you can overcome mild depression, but if its long term, it can be controlled through medical help and medication, to be able to lead a normal and happy life like me 🙂
There is no need to tell those who do not understand about mental issues, that you have depression. The important thing is to, go to a psychiatrist or a psychologist that can really see eye to eye and understand you. “Please do not think of yourself as being permanently ill” I will also give you the same advice you have given me, “Not to let these foolish people, who do not understand that mind is also in the body upset you” Because of your comment here I will be doing another post to show how so many people world over are concerned and reacts to mental health. Thank you so much for your comment ❤
I hope sometimes you would read my articles about Healing, as I have begun to receive energy into my hands and I am, reading and studying about Energy Healing too. It has been little over two years since I began to receive them, and not very sure exactly how I am to make use of them for others. But I have been told that the, "Healing Energy will go where they are needed" So I do hope some will come to you too when I am praying, and when ever I receive them. In the meantime, I send you many Blessings of Love, Light and Healing Energies your way and wish you Good Health ❤

      1. Thank you so much for your kind words ❤ I only started my second blog a couple of months ago, I wanted to share things I had learned along my own journey with depression and other issues in the hopes that it would help others or at the very least let people know they aren't alone in thinking the way they do. A few years ago I went through a bad spell which made me very depressed and I struggled to get through it, I am much better today although clearly it's a long process and the fact I have this new issue with chest pain means I'm not at that stage where I'm completely better, but I feel I've turned a big corner in terms of where my life was going which is a good thing 🙂 I personally do not like the thought of being medicated which is why I've tried to find other ways of healing through therapies and trying more spiritual things which some doctors disagree with, but I think we all find our path at some point and when something works and is right then we should keep going. It seems that this new energy healing you're experiencing is the right path for you. Not many people are blessed with such an ability and however you use it I hope you will benefit from it too ❤ ❤ I confess I don't know so much about energy healing but I will read your blog posts and catch up on what I have missed. Your writing really resonates with my way of thinking and I haven't come across many others which have that same effect ❤
Love, light, peace and happiness to you too ❤ ❤ 🙂
