Back Pain!

Hoping all of you are keeping well and managing to get on with Your Lives in Good Health and in Peace. These days the on going Health issue is causing much stress and also people working from home and not much relaxation or exercises seems to result in aches in the body mainly Neck, Shoulder and Back aches. That I thought of writing about it!

How Anxiety Causes Back Pain: And How to Stop It

  • Anxiety, especially chronic anxiety, commonly leads to back pain
  • Muscle tension may be the primary cause, but there are other supplementary anxiety symptoms that could also cause back pain
  • Simple lifestyle changes can reduce some of the back pain
  • One simple change: posture, which can be affected by anxiety in several ways
  • Eliminating back pain from anxiety, specifically, traditionally requires anxiety treatments

Low Back Pain

Also known as: lumbagoPain or ache in the lower region of the back, varying in intensity.

  • Pronunciation: Lumbago /lʌmˈbeɪɡoʊ/
  • Usual onset: 20 to 40 years of age
  • Duration: 65% get better in 6 weeks
  • Types: Acute (less than 6 weeks), sub-chronic (6 to 12 weeks), chronic (more than 12 weeks)
  • Frequency: 25% in any given month

Common causes

Low back pain is not always related to an underlying condition. It may be caused by:

  • Lifting heavy objects
  • Sudden jerks in a motor vehicle
  • Excessive strain on the muscle due to prolonged sitting or wrong positioning while sleeping
  • Prolonged use of high heel shoes
  • Also common during pregnancy, before/during menstruation

Treatment

Self-treatment: Self- care steps that may be helpful in some less- serious cases:

  • Apply muscle relaxant ointments or sprays
  • Try resting the back for a while
  • Avoid heavy physical activities for couple of days
  • Apply heat or cold compress – depending on what soothes the body
  • Try over the counter pain relievers.
  • Avoid jerky or painful movements
  • Observe the pain location and intensity, whether the pain is constant or appears during certain activities like bending, stretching and such

See a doctor if you notice:

  • Persistent pain for over 72 hours
  • Recurrent pain
  • Spreading of pain to other regions like leg, arms or neck
  • Difficulty sleeping, sitting or disturbance in daily activities

See a doctor immediately if you notice:

  • Severe and unbearable pain
  • Injury
  • Other symptoms like fatigue, fever etc

Back pain is one of the most common reasons people go to the doctor or miss work, and it is a leading cause of disability worldwide. Back pain can range from a muscle aching. In addition, the pain may radiate down your leg or worsen with bending, twisting, lifting, standing or walking. Fortunately, you can take measures to prevent or relieve most back pain episodes. If prevention fails, simple home treatment and proper body mechanics often will heal your back within a few weeks and keep it functional.
Back pain includes lower back pain, middle back pain, upper back pain or low back pain with sciatica. Nerve and muscular problems. Back pain symptoms may be relived with pain medication.

Lower left back pain is a condition that affects many people – young and old. Very often, lower back pain affects just one side of your body and can cause discomfort ranging from mild aches to agonizing sharp pain. Lower back pain is also called lumbago because it causes discomfort in your lumbar region or lower back. This is the area in your lower back that is above your hips and below the bottom of your back rib cage. Muscle injury, nerve damage can all result in pain in the lower left back side.

What is sciatica?

Back pain includes lower back pain, middle back pain, upper back pain or low back pain with sciatica. Nerve and muscular problems. Back pain symptoms may be relived with pain medication. Sciatica is a condition that can lead to pain in the back and legs. It occurs when pain travels along the path of the sciatic nerve. This nerve starts in the lower spine, and travels through the hip and buttock and down the back of the leg to the foot. There are a range of different causes of sciatica. In most cases, the condition gets better over time, either on its own or with treatment.

Back pain and stress. We typically talk about back pain as mid-back and low-back pain. Over time, both affect your posture and the way you walk, which can lead to pain in the hips, knees, and feet. Mid-back pain includes muscles that are affected by breathing, including the chest and shoulder muscles. When you’re stressed, your breathing patterns change and cause strain and tension in the mid-back.

Risk factors

Anyone can develop back pain, even children and teens. These factors might put you at greater risk of developing back pain:

  • Age. Back pain is more common as you get older, but young people also can get it.
  • Lack of exercise. Weak, unused muscles in your back and abdomen might lead to back pain.
  • Excess weight. Excess body weight puts extra stress on your back.
  • Diseases. Some can contribute to back pain.
  • Improper lifting. Using your back instead of your legs can lead to back pain.
  • Psychological conditions. People prone to depression and anxiety appear to have a risk of back pain.
  • Smoking. Smokers have increased rates of back pain. This may occur because smoking prompts more coughing.

Prevention

You might avoid back pain or prevent its recurrence by improving your physical condition and learning and practicing proper body mechanics.

To keep your back healthy and strong:

  • Exercise. Regular low-impact aerobic activities — those that don’t strain or jolt your back — can increase strength and endurance in your back and allow your muscles to function better. Walking and swimming are good choices. Talk with your doctor about which activities you might try.
  • Build muscle strength and flexibility. Abdominal and back muscle exercises, which strengthen your core, help condition these muscles so that they work together like a naturally for your back.
  • Maintain a healthy weight. Being overweight strains back muscles. If you’re overweight, trimming down can prevent back pain.

Avoid movements that twist or strain your back. Use your body properly:

  • Stand smart. Don’t slouch. Maintain a neutral pelvic position. If you must stand for long periods, place one foot on a low footstool to take some of the load off your lower back. Alternate feet. Good posture can reduce the stress on back muscles.
  • Sit smart. Choose a seat with good lower back support, armrests and a swivel base. Placing a pillow or rolled towel in the small of your back can maintain its normal curve. Keep your knees and hips level. Change your position frequently, at least every half-hour.
  • Lift smart. Avoid heavy lifting, if possible, but if you must lift something heavy, let your legs do the work. Keep your back straight — no twisting — and bend only at the knees. Hold the load close to your body. Find a lifting partner if the object is heavy or awkward.

My Mission Stigma ~ 2!

Hello To All My Dear Readers ❤

I hope as usual all of you are keeping in Good Health as much as possible. Now that I have started My Mission, “Working towards Mental Wellness openly, “I feel I will be getting more opportunities in the future to work in Other ways to spread My Knowledge and Experiences” At this time I don’t exactly know how and when, “So I am going to Publish this post and “Keep to fill up at a later date” 🙂

12th October 2021: So far I have not seen any new ventures. So want to move on. Still have the balance decluttering bits and tidying and arranging the house, with what is there and also with Spring, needs are changing. The shops have put out Christmas trees and still putting things out everything thing to do with Christmas. So giving a break to writing here (unless there is a Topic I come across or A need” and getting on with finishing up with arranging the house and also getting ready for Christmas. They are not expensive thigs as I believe its a “Time of giving and Sharing” as especially now Things people need are even more with the on going Health issues!

My Mission ~ Stigma 1!

Hello To All My Dear Readers ❤

I hope all of you are keeping in Good Health as much as possible. Somehow the way I have ben going, The Time for me to really Begin My Journey on “Mental Wellness ~ Stigma and Discrimination” has set in at the correct Time!

I started writing my Journey of wellness in my website: iammypath.com in 2015 September. Now it is August 2021 just a moth less than 6 years. Time has flown. Today is “The 9th of August 2021. I pasted the Big Stigma sticker from the inside of the front glass on the side of the passenger seat side.

Somehow I want to shape if possible, at least from the Top, to make it more prominent, if possible. Now see, I have been able to shape it. It is pasted from inside the glass of the front wind screen 🙂

Like this. So that it will be like some person, going with me on my Mission 🙂 I have got some cards printed with My website addresses as then people know I am “Serious about My Mission” Different ones according to what I feel will “Help Encourage and above all “To have HOPE” towards feeling Better to Lead Their Lives well 🙂


I had written before too, that millions world over are going through Low Moods, and other mental health problems. And the world Health Organization had stated that depression was going to be of the main health issue by 2030! Today is the 9th of August 2021 and there is a “Different Health Issue All over the World. And this has made so many changes of, “Restrictions of Movements on, Travelling for work and vacations, Working from Home and even some places doing business on line and even closing and some having less work of even losing jobs! That has added more stress to most of the people!

 People living with mental problems experience systemic, cultural, social, and inter-personal stigma and discrimination about their mental issues. These entrenched attitudes and responses are making problems to a person’s day-to-day health and wellbeing, and place structural and life determining barriers. This is why “PEOPLE ARE RELUCTANT TO GO FOR MEDICAL HELP AND THEREBY RESULTING IN VALUABLE TIME AND ASSETS ARE LOST!!!

What is mental health stigma? A stigma can be like a mark, a stain or a blemish. People with mental issues may face stigma — they may be treated differently, as if they are somehow less than other people. Stigma shows when someone with a mental issues is called unnecessary names rather than unwell.

In 2020 there is a wake-up call about the fragility of their mental health and wellbeing, and the long-term impacts it can have on all aspects of your life, if it’s not looked after. We can now build upon this new level of awareness. In reality, where we live, learn and work in our communities is where we experience most of our mental health and wellbeing challenges, and this is where the system response needs to be met with the right levels of coordinated and affordable support and care, with a focus on early intervention and prevention.

Those of you who are reading, and seeing all these posts, now need to be able to feel that, “YOU ARE NOT ALONE” ~ “YOU ARE JUST LIKE ANY OTHER HUMAN BEING” ~ “YOU ARE VALUABLE” and do not be shy or afraid to go to a doctor, or some medical help anytime you have issues with your mind. “IT IS JUST THAT YOUR MIND ALSO HAS THE RIGHT TO BE A LITTLE ILL and NEED SOME MEDICAL HELP, MEDICATION and LOVING KINDNESS” ~ “IT IS YOUR LIFE AND IT IS IMPORTANT TO YOU” ~ “YOU NEED TO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF” ❤



When we focus our energy towards constructing a meaningful life, we are tossing a pebble into the world. Creating a beautiful ripple effect of Inspiration. When one person follows a Dream, tries something new, or take a brave leap, “Everyone around you feels that energy gets motivated 🙂

And before long, they are also inspired to, “Try out following their Dreams and Inspire yet another circle or a group of people. “Now who will try to begin writing or finding out what Their Talents or Gift is?

I hope reading all these has inspired and encouraged you to seek help and become, “The SURVIVOR” to tell, “YOUR STORY” to others to Encourage them too” And, “HELP END THE STIGMA”? YOU CAN AND YOU WILL ❤

New Beginning!

Hello To All My Readers ❤

I have lived in my little home for 8 years and now going on the 9th year. Winter has begun with icy cold winds and rain. Time for warm food and clothes. I am so glad that I am able to stay warm in my little home. I have been preparing for a few new things as 8 years, some things I have out grown and some are not that useful. To begin with the floor carpet at the entrance has seen better days and I started by getting a new one. I love Lavender flowers and its smell and colour too and lo behold I came across one while I was looking around things in a shop. How do you like it. Isn’t it pretty 🙂

There were other things. Some of the stuff like my warm clothing, day and night time. I have begun to wear more softer and looser clothes for comfort so could be given more to needy. Being icy cold there are so many who could use some extra warm things. So bundled up as much as possible, what ever I could find. Blankets, sheets, pillow cases and also some of my warm clothes that and took to a place where they are doing service, distributing to the needy 🙂

I needed to put my washed clothes inside as added to the cold it has begun to rain as well. So I have arranged the garage to put in some clothes racks. The garage has doubled also to keep some food tins as these times not only rain and cold, but limited movements sometimes. These are the extra food stuff what I have right now. I try and replace as if I don’t go out or suddenly I want to eat some snack or just heat and eat. Also made it pretty with some bright artificial flowers to add some colour in some extra bowls I had 🙂

Clothing racks help you to put your clothes coats, shirts, pants, jackets, and other garments in your home as well as (shops too) in a variety of styles to best suit your location. These racks are all designed to hold hangers with clothes on them, easily arranged to fit your needs. Using the appropriate stand makes it easier maximizing space as they have multiple arms or long length rails on the stands. These is what I bought, but a picture with clothes from the I net!

Below is what I found on the I net, what some are doing, being creative and cheap. I just came across this what a nice idea. One can be made quite easily and cheap, and even painted and decorated with some bright colours or even kept with some plants even 🙂

“All over the world. You can see what a lot of countries from the picture below and how people, climate and ways of living is different!

Below is like what I hang some of my clothes day to day wear, like tops and T shirts, with wheels, My one is a little too full and cannot take a nice picture, as well as the garage is ordinary 😀 So this is a similar one like this from the I net, but some of my shoes at the bottom. Also with some male clothes also, as well as there are those that ask why always the pictures with more ladies and their things. So I tend to post some male figures as there are men who make do with the homes and available space just like the ladies. Actually some families are using the garages in different ways like a second sitting room and for the kids to play with Toys. Some as for Hobbies playing indoor games, like Cards, Billiards rooms, some call them “Man Cave” to watch TV Sports films, do carpentry or what ever noisy things, they want to, so that they have a space of their own to make noise doing their hobbies or extra work. without using it as a garage and parking the cars outside!

But here I am describing what I am doing. It is NOT good clothes But day to day ordinary wear, and do not go out daily, and take the car out soon as I start, so that fuel smell do not get to them!

In the front I got two new chairs and 2 colourful cushions. In Australia there is so much of sales going on all the time. As a season is beginning the clothes are expensive, and before you know the next time, they are on sale and reduced almost half or even 1/3 the price as, The next seasons clothes are already on the way, and they need to free up their present collection. The thing is I look around. Not so much go hunting but knowing, when and where to shop. Lot of rain these day very cold and staying indoors. Also cannot keep the chairs with cushions they get wet and get spoilt. So this is one with a pretty cushion 🙂

Below is a nice way to, Make the old ones new. And so many things can be bought from second hand and charity shops. They go very very cheap. What someone doesn’t want or too many things another one can get and paint in different colours or even buy material and sew pretty new or find old cushions 🙂

This palm tree is in the front of my home, and I thought of posting a picture with a beautiful new flower opening up. Below is where I work but, a little old picture, newly how I started to write. As Time went by naturally few things have changed around it.

Finally. “I have started another project “Working for Mental wellness and to spread the word “Stop The Stigma” with new Website cards printed and pens to go with them and have been distributing them around, and where ever possible. Even A Sticker of “My Path.com” and “Stop The Stigma” is pasted on my little car, all of which I will post in a next post 🙂

Lotus Flower!

With so much of Health issues and restrictions I thought it is a good time to write about the lotus flower. A flower I like very much and you all will like to read about it. A light topic and not so much of serious reading. In History, it is taken as one of the most spiritual flowers on Earth. The symbolism of the lotus flower dates back thousands of years. An important symbol in many different cultures, Lotus flowers are one of the most prominent tokens in Eastern cultures. In Hinduism and Buddhism, they’re considered as the most sacred flower. Lotus flowers are beautiful flowers that are commonly associated with purity, inner strength, tranquility, prosperity, and beauty ❤


It is often called a water lily. Their seeds can survive for thousands of years without water. They have a strong will to survive. It’s used in food, medicine, art, and so much more. The most common use for a lotus is ornamental. However, the roots are sweet and fragrant as well as rich in starch and vitamins. You can eat them raw, cooked into soups, brewed into teas, blended into salads, dried, preserved, and even powdered. Other parts of the lotus plant are also edible. They will grow in most soils and in most environments, so long as they have mud or water, and as long as they can float. In fact, they contain little air spaces in their leaves to ensure buoyancy (To be able to float. Something to float in water or other fluid) and long stems to tie them to the mud. Other uses for lotus flower roots, petals, nuts, and seeds include:
Cosmetics
Environmentally friendly packaging material
Raw material for textiles
With all its uses, the lotus isn’t seen too frequently in the western world, but that doesn’t mean you can’t grow it.

Lotus in Jewelry and Fashion

Today the lotus remains one of the most popular symbols in jewelry and fashion. It’s often used in pendants, rings, bracelets and earrings, or simply kept as a charm. The image can be stylized and represented in many ways, including as an open bloom or a closed bud.

Lotus jewelry also makes a great gift ideas:

  • As a gift to someone coming of age, it’s a reminder to stay grounded and true to oneself, while ever striving upwards.
  • For someone going through a difficult period in their life, the lotus is a symbol of overcoming adversity and hardship, while still keeping one’s spirit intact.

While the symbolism of the lotus is rooted in several religions, the symbol has transcended this to become universal and can be sported by anyone, regardless of their religious affiliation. After all, no one can lay claim to the lotus, one of the most beautiful and symbolically rich flowers of the natural world.

Journaling!

Hello To All My Dear Readers ❤

Hope all of you are keeping in Good Health, at These times of many Health issues. Although I have written many articles on Writing: All About Writing! 2. The Power of Hand Writing! 3. Revision In Pictures 3 ~ Writing!

I have not written a Specific Post on: Journaling itself. At these times when so many are “Restricted of Their going about, I thought of Writing a Post on this Topic of “What I have already written, what I already know and also I saw a “Very Good Article on The I net and also I have some paper cuttings, and other books and Magazines that I can refer and write Hopefully a Good Post. Which is a Very Good Way to “Manage your feelings and its a Very good way of “Organizing your thoughts and feelings of day to day Living too! Journaling can help to express emotions, be present with thoughts and clear your head.. Journaling is not just a little thing you do to pass the time, to write down your memories though it can be, “Research has shown a “Decrease in Physician visits for those who record their thoughts in Journals Daily. It is said that, “It’s a way that has helped brilliant, and wise people become better at what they do!


The best ways to get used to Journal. Keep pens or pencils and paper what ever you can, keep in few places where you can see and easily write then and there, when you get the need to write. They can be just writing papers. old diaries where you can write anyway you want. Because sometimes when you are annoyed or feeling in a low mood, you will need to “write and throw away them. Anyway as you write and improve, you need to throw away as that means, “Letting Go of the Past and moving forward in to Higher Wave lengths and Better standards of Living in Good Health and Happiness 🙂

Here in short Joys of Journaling: 1. Helps You to Clarify Your Thoughts and Feelings. 2. Helps You to Reduce Stress and Relax Your Mind. 3. Helps You to Let Go and Forget certain unwanted incidents. 4. Therapeutic as it reduces stressful feelings 🙂

Differently!

Hello To All My Dear Readers ❤

Hope all of you are keeping well with the current Health condition going on. Now what I am going to write is quite interesting. Suddenly few days back, I felt like ordering my day to day groceries, the dried food things that are heavy in bulk from I net delivery to my house itself. Somehow I felt strongly I needed to do so. I did. As now at the Present Time what I want is to, “Save More Time to Write Posts on iammypath.com 🙂

Then I saw that a huge vessel carrying so many containers had got stuck in Th Suez canal. And some of The Readers wanted to know about what is going on. That I had to Detour ~ make a change” from what I wanted to write about Originally – at The Start. Photos and maps show how an enormous container ship got stuck in the Suez Canal, blocking one of the world’s most vital shipping routes:

  • The huge Ever Given container ship has been stuck in the Suez Canal for more than 72 hours.
  • Mariners have tried to dig and pull the ship out, so far without success.
  • Pictures show a timeline of the grounding of the vessel that has hit global trade.

As the crisis caused by the stuck ship entered its fourth day, the closure of a crucial globe shipping lane sent supply chains deeper into chaos.

Some shipping firms were beginning to divert vessels bound for Suez to instead travel the whole way around Africa, adding thousands of miles, days in delays, and vast extra expenses to their voyages.



These are the pictures. Actually even I was not aware of such Huge ships carrying so many containers, and also I read how the canal was built at first. It was people who were digging and then only later machines were used!

At nearly 60.96m wide and 396.24m long, it easily took up the width of the channel.
Officials attributed the accident to high winds and sandstorms. Sandstorms are not unusual at this time of year in Egypt.

The Suez Canal is crucial to global supply chains. According to The Wall Street Journal, 19,000 ships passed through it in 2020.

The Suez Canal is a man-made waterway connecting the Mediterranean Sea to the Indian Ocean via the Red Sea. It enables a more direct route for shipping between Europe and Asia, effectively allowing for passage from the North Atlantic to the Indian Ocean without having to circumnavigate the African continent. The waterway is vital for international trade.

Where Is the Suez Canal?

The Suez Canal stretches 120 miles from Port Said on the Mediterranean Sea in Egypt southward to the city of Suez (located on the northern shores of the Gulf of Suez). The canal separates the bulk of Egypt from the Sinai Peninsula. It took 10 years to build, and was officially opened on November 17, 1869.

Owned and operated by the Suez Canal Authority, the Suez Canal’s use is intended to be open to ships of all countries,

Construction began, at the northernmost Port Said end of the canal, in early 1859. The excavation work took 10 years, and an estimated 1.5 million people worked on the project.

Ismail Pasha, Khedive of Egypt and the Sudan, formally opened the Suez Canal on November 17, 1869.

Officially, the first ship to navigate through the canal was the imperial yacht of French Empress Eugenie, the L’Aigle, followed by the British ocean liner Delta.

Today, an average of 50 ships navigate the canal daily, carrying more than 300 million tons of goods per year.

Panic!

Hello To All My Readers ❤

Hope All of You are Keeping in Good Health. This is a Topic I have felt The Need to write as I have found out “Very Important at “These Times of Health Issues”. Panic Attacks ❤

How is a panic disorder treated?

If you suffer from panic disorder, it can be helpful to know 2 things at First:

  • Don’t Think of Them as You are in life-threatening danger.
  • And keep Your strength and Hope that the symptoms will go away.

    At The same Time “Please see A Doctor “As soon as Possible”!
  • What is A Panic Attack: A Panic Attack is a response to a stressful situation, where you feel like you are losing control.

If you have a panic attack, you might have a racing heart and be flushed with sometimes Pain you chest also. You might feel sweaty, shaky, dizzy Faintish and breathless. You may not have all these and know “What You get” Whether it is mild or severe when people over work or get hurt, they get stressed. And when it comes to Healing, You have to somehow “Learn to Relax” and let Your feelings of  “Stress which is, discomfort or sadness reduced”.

Here are some more Ideas, “That You can choose or which are Possible for Each of You” To do As Soon As Possible ❤

You need to discuss with your closest, and that is your family members, as they are the people whom you come across almost daily, and the most important people that need to know what is going on with you, as otherwise they will not know how to support you ❤

The thing is sometimes how ever much you have people around you, they may not know, nor will they really understand what you are going through. Or sometimes  it can be that, the very ones who should be “Caring and supporting you will get upset themselves and might be not able to help you. At these times see if you can find “A Friend, even an outsider who can Understand” You ❤

To manage panic disorder, you need strategies to regain some control. Techniques that can help you feel calmer include:

  • Relaxation strategies
  • Breathing exercises
  • Mindfulness
  • Meditation

Make Note: This is ***This is Not Professional Counselling*** What I am writing is “Mostly My first hand Knowledge and Experiences, and  also, doing references”. You Need To Talk with A Doctor and Take, “Advice or Help” You need to work on it with all available resources. And do see a Medical Personnel, a Doctor, Counsellor or Therapist ❤

The national emblem of Sri Lanka[1][2][3] is used by the State of Sri Lanka and the Sri Lankan government in connection with the administration and government of the country. The current emblem has been in use since 1972 and created under the ideas and guidance of Nissanka Wijeyeratne. At the time, he was Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and Chairman of the National Emblem and Flag Design Committee.[4] The designer of the emblem was Venerable Mapalagama Wipulasara Maha Thera,[5][6] [7][8][9][10][11][12] [13] and the artwork was by S. The emblem features a gold lion passant, holding a sword in its right fore paw (the same lion from the flag of Sri Lanka) in the centre on a maroon background surrounded by golden petals of a Blue Lotus the national flower of the country. This is placed on top of a traditional grain vase that sprouts sheaves of rice grains that circle the border reflecting prosperity.
The crest is the Dharmachakra, symbolizing the country’s foremost place for Buddhism and just rule. Traditional Sinhalese heraldic symbols for the sun and the moon form the supporters.

The flag of Sri Lanka (Sinhala: ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ ජාතික කොඩිය, romanized: Śrī Laṃkāvē jāthika kodiyaTamil: இலங்கையின் தேசியக்கொடி, romanized: Ilankaiyin teciyakkoṭi), also called the Lion Flag or Sinha Flag, consists of a golden lion holding a kastane sword in its right fore-paw in a maroon background with four gold bo leaves, one in each corner. This is bordered by gold, and to its left are two vertical stripes of equal size in green and orange, with the orange stripe closest to the lion. The lion and the maroon background represent the Sinhalese, while the saffron border and four Bo leaves represent Buddhism and the four Buddhist concepts of MettāKaruṇāMuditā and Upekshā respectively. The stripes represent the two main minorities: the orange representing the Sri Lankan Tamils and the green representing Sri Lankan Muslims.
