Who I am Now & Why I am Writing!

Hello To All My Dear Readers 🙂

This is another New Beginning and continuation of My Journey on: iammypath.com since I began Four Years ago on 28th September 2015, from Who I am & Why I am Writing! I have come a long way and “I am in Very Good Health, Body and Mind”, ending one chapter of My Journey and Beginning the Next chapter, ***Not only have I acquired ~ ***The Gift of Healing Hands*** 🙂

Dr. Gerald Corey:Born:1937 (age 82 years) Gerald Corey is a Professor Emeritus of Human Services at California State University at Fullerton; He received his doctorate in counseling from the University of Southern California. a Diplomate in Counseling Psychology, American Board of Professional Psychology; a licensed psychologist in California; a National Certified Counselor. (Division 17, Counseling Psychology; and Division 49, Group Psychotherapy); a Fellow of the American Psychological Association (Counseling Psychology); a Fellow of the American Counseling Association; and a Fellow of the Association for Specialists in Group Work. He also holds memberships in the American Group  Psychotherapy Association; the American Mental Health Counselors Association; the Association for Spiritual, Ethical, and Religious Values in Counseling; the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision; and Western Association of Counselor Education and Supervision.
Dr. Corey teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in group counseling, as well as courses in experiential groups, the theory and practice of counseling, and ethics in counseling. He is the author or co-author of 15 counseling textbooks currently in print as well as numerous journal articles. Along with his wife, Marianne Schneider Corey, Dr. Corey has conducted group counseling training workshops for mental health professionals at many universities in the United States, as well as in Canada, Mexico, China, Hong Kong, Korea, Germany, Belgium, Scotland, England, and Ireland. They received the Association for Specialists in Group Work’s Eminent Career Award in 2001. Dr. Donald Meichenbaum, Ph.D. is  a founder of Cognitive Behavioral Modification and has been voted one of the 10 most influential psychotherapists of the Century. Dr. Meichenbaum is Distinguished Professor Emeritus at the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, and maintains a private practice as a clinical psychologist. As an expert in the treatment of PTSD, Dr. Meichenbaum has presented throughout North and Central America, Israel, Japan, and the former Soviet Union.  This workshop presents the essence of Dr. Donald Meichenbaum’s approach to  PTSD.  As a clinician and researcher, he has treated all age groups for traumas suffered from violence, abuse, accidents, and illness.Dr. Meichenbaum is the author and co-author of numerous books including: A  Clinical Handbook/Practical Therapist Manual for Assessing and Treating Adults with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Stress Inoculation Training, Pain and Behavioral Medicine, and Facilitating Treatment Adherence.  His book, Cognitive Behavior Modification: An Integrative Approach, is considered a classic in its field.  He also serves as the editor of the Plenum Press Series on Stress and Coping ~ https://www.psychalive.org/donald-meichenbaum-ph-d/

**** Dr. Meichenbaum uses these questions to evaluate the “Outcome of, “The Therapy”:
1. Are clients now able to tell, “A New Story about themselves and the World”?
2. Do clients now use more Positive Metaphors to Describe Themselves?
3. Are clients now able to “Predict high-risk situations and Employ Coping Skills in emerging problems”?
4. Are clients able to “Take Credit for the changes, “They have been able to bring about”?

**** In Successful Therapy Clients, “Develop Their Own Voices Take Pride in what They have Accomplished, and “Take Ownership of The Changes they are bringing about”. In short, “CLIENTS BECOME THEIR OWN THERAPISTS and TAKE THE THERAPISTS VOICE WITH THEM” 🙂

Celebrate Life!

Hello To All My Dear Readers ❤

Hope all of you are well and Happy 🙂 I am taking a good rest after all the writing of 92 articles on my website here. I hope all those who are following and reading have made use of what I have written and moved on to the next levels in your life. I am hoping to keep this simple as I am really relaxing by getting back to reading, I have not been reading much although I have kept on buying the latest books and magazines. Also eating very Healthy and Sleeping long hours, as its winter time now here in Aussie and very good time to sleep long hours. Eating, drinking and taking in nourishing food, with rest and relaxation helps us to make up for the over worked hours and burning lot of calories in the process. Well I am cooking at home all the nice food I like to eat and drinking lot of hot nourishing hot soups, that is making me strong and keeping me warm and strong. We need to be Healthy physically as well as mentally as both body and mind need to be fit and strong to lead a strong and healthy life 🙂

I have also slowly got back to the other websites to connect again and see what all my blogging friends are up to. As they have been reading and commenting, and I have not been that alert to keep up with what they have been up to! I did not think of writing another article so soon, but I saw one of my blogging friends saying he is very stressed and needs relaxing, that this topic came into my mind. Writing is also Relaxing and Therapeutic, making use of my time writing here for myself and others benefit which I am really enjoying as there is no rush or time limit, if one does it in their own time quietly ~ ( All About Writing  ! ) ❤

I am just maintaining my little garden, as it is not possible to stay out in the cold and wet winter weather. So I am rearranging the inside, keeping my natural plants to the minimum and adding some artificial plants, as it is not possible to have delicate natural plants when you need to heat up inside 🙂

I  am not one for going out too much especially when it is wet and cold and even otherwise unless I want to do my basic shopping and if I have some other issue to attend to. Which leaves a lot of free time to maintain my home and do all my hobbies and lead a relaxing and life. I used to draw and paint, those days but now I have begun to do to colouring to relax. This is one of mindful colouring that I have done sometime back, when I take a break doing something different 🙂

I am watching some good TV programms on different subjects where my mind moves on to a different track as well as adding different words ( Words Words and Words ! ) to my vocabulary, which also helps, “Not to think of the same subjects ~ which I find again relaxes my mind” Has any of you have had this experience I wonder?

Words 1I am also listening to good classical music and listening to good sounds. Listening to music can decrease anxiety, speed Healing, Increase Optimism and decrease pain. Babies know from Happy from sad songs. As young as 5 months can distinguish (recognize) an upbeat tune such as, “An Ode to Joy” from Beethoven’s 9th symphony. “Sound is a nutrient for the nervous system. Love Your ears …..they are much more important than you ever realized.” ~ Prof. Dr. Alfred Tomati ❤

However, recent findings show the listening to any music that is personally enjoyable has positive effects on cognition. Listening to good music can make you learn better and has the power to enhance some kind of higher brain function, such as reading and literacy skills, spatial-tempered reasoning, emotional intelligence and mathematical abilities – even children with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder benefit in mathematics tests from listening to music beforehand ❤

Healing Powers: Music can help to stimulate/activate the mind, ‘Boost Creative Energies”, and are associated with “Dreaming, Learning and Relaxing”. The key to Boosting Creative Energies is to Listen to the type of music “You Enjoy” the most. If You want more “Inspiration, in Language and Mathematics” it would make sense to listen to “Music with Singing”, while “Music without words”, stimulates more “Artistic and Visual Senses” ❤

After I Relax and Re-Energize I have to plan out for the next chapter. Learning from the past experiences, the mind automatically prepares how to move forward in future. Although we don’t realize, looking back we can see how far we have come and we need to, “Rejoice the fact of doing well and Celebrate our achievements big or small”. In doing so, we, “Encourage ourselves to ~ Do better” Because it is “US” that know how much “Time, Energy, Effort even Money we have put in” So we are best people to Appreciate and acknowledge what we have Achieved and in doing so, “We Enhance the Gifts the Talents” we already have and move on to, “A Higher platform, A Higher level to do better for Ourselves and for Others” 🙂

Life’s Challenges!

Hello To All My Dear Readers ❤

Challenges 1
I hope all those who are following my journey are keeping well and reading what I write and learning something new. Life is Not always easy, “That is because everyone’s life is not a straight path even mine”, we all share the same, sometimes slow and sometimes like a roller coaster ride. Of course I do not go on the real rides as I prefer to look at those going and enjoying

But I am very strong to face the challenges that life sends us as, tests in the forms of thunder, lightening, storms and tornadoes ~ This is just a way of explaining BUT and Not the real ones 😛

Challenges 2

Some of you may feel it is only for you, but bear in mind, troubles of all sorts are for all of us. Only some do not show and bear in silence. “Can you think of one person you know who has never been ill, lost a loved one, gone through financial difficulties or mental stress? Can you? No! So we all go through difficult times, that comes as challenges, for us to overcome them and move over to the next level ❤

So you need to know there is a meaning all this. Either you face, overcome them and move on to the next level or not fight, and waste your precious time and energy. In every religion, every wise person, all the books, even the quotes all teach us these things to guide us all. Some may not understand this at once, but Believe, have Faith, and trust how things happen (process) in life. Learn to be wise, read and learn how to make the best use of what is available. It is not only meditation, but prayers and guidance from others, and from our own mind too, we all learn what best to do and what path to follow to achieve our goals ❤

Human life is so precious. What animal can read? Choose how to live? Do they have a choice? As human beings there are opportunities open to us. We as human beings, majority of us have a choice. It may be some of you are not in a position to choose at this time of your life. But have Faith things can Change. Always have Hope that Life will turn to the better. Pray, Meditate and “As I receive Healing Energies ~ from The Universe” I Pray from My Heart, that Life WILL improve and You will have a better tomorrow a Better Future” ❤

Healing ~ Basic Steps!

Hello To All My Dear Readers ❤

Heal 10I have written this article at the very beginning in, October 2015 and I see not many have read. Also there are requests to write the basic steps in detail. So I am writing it again with, “New experiences and knowledge I have gained over a period of over 3 years” as today is: 14th February 2019 🙂

This is a short article explaining about Trauma. When you experience deep sadness or grief, it is referred as Trauma. (a deeply distressing or disturbing experience) It can be physical too, then its to do with the body. (Psychological trauma is a type of damage to the mind that occurs as a result of a severely distressing event. Trauma is often the result of an overwhelming amount of stress that exceeds one’s ability to cope, or integrate the emotions involved with that experience. A traumatic event involves one’s experience, or repeating events of being overwhelmed that can be precipitated in weeks, years, or even decades as the person struggles to cope with the immediate circumstances, eventually leading to serious, long-term negative consequences ~ Courtesy Wikipedia!

Why people get hurt or sad is, when they are criticized, put down, controlled or blamed continuously, and when they feel they don’t deserve it and it’s wrong and unfair. If they are guilty of any wrong doings, then deep in their hearts they know they have done it and they do deserve some of it. But when they feel they don’t deserve it, the insults, the harsh Words Words and Words ! affects one’s hearts and makes wounds that will be difficult and take a long time to heal!

These are what stays on collecting inside you, weighing you down, making you feel miserable and low. So when too many things happen all at once, and then the last thing can be like what is said, ” The last straw that breaks the Camel’s back” that will finally push you over, which will lead to break downs. Break downs doesn’t happen if there is support, love and care around. But the thing is sometimes how ever much you have people around you, they may not know, nor will some really understand as to what you are going through. As usually it is difficult for so many to understand unless, “They have experienced themselves so sometimes sadly  it can be that, “The very ones who should be “Caring and supporting you, will be the ones who will (That Thing called Stress !!!) stress and be unhelpful for you to heal”!

Its difficult to tell what to do in this situations as for each person the circumstances are different, as well as for each person the strength of the mind also is different. So anytime you do feel overly stressed and unable to handle them alone, and/or, if your low moods do not go away, please do go and see a doctor and get help. In some countries You are able to go to psychiatrist itself. In some countries, “You have to first go to a GP. Usually the method is to go to a GP “(general practitioner) ~ In the medical profession, a general practitioner (GP) is a medical doctor who treats acute and chronic illnesses and provides preventive care and health education to patients” ~ Courtesy of the I net!

As that will avoid a long and unnecessary sad feelings to you and, to so many people, who depend on you too sometimes in your family. Above all your life is valuable and your health is a very important part of it. And you alone have to know where to draw the line and safe guard and take care of yourself. Its your life and you are the caretaker of Yourself no one else 🙂

Stress 1a
Whether it is mild or severe, pain is pain in different amounts. And when it comes to Healing from ~ Depression !, we have to let our feelings of stress out, meaning speak out and discuss with the counselors, doctors and therapists or who ever you are dealing with. Also you need to discuss with your closest, and that is your family members, as they are the people whom you come across almost daily, and the most important people that need to know what is going on with you, as otherwise they will not know how to support you ❤ ~ Healing ~ Trauma !

I know sometimes how hard it is when you cannot get over the low mood. It seems to go on, but know that, “You can control enough and get over with, “Counselling and Psychotherapy ! and Medication”. I am writing like this is because “I have overcome the sad feelings” over time with all this, and working on myself, with “Dedication over time with Patience”. It may seem a hard and difficult task when you feel down, but TRUST me if I have become better, so “Can You” But You need to “Be Strong and Kind and Patient with Yourself” You may or may not have help from your family and friends to support you, but understand again, “That those who have not gone through, are unable to fully understand how and what You feel, and You might feel not supported, “But you can try and explain yourself or even much better, “To get your doctor or your counselor to explain to them. In the mean time have “Faith and Patience in Yourself ❤

Heal 9
At the times You feel well enough, try and read self help books, or go through the Online Psychological Therapy ! I net to find answers and advice too from good sites. At times try to relax and even take a nap, if you don’t feel like doing anything, it may be you need to rest so give in and try to sleep. You will relax and feel better. I know there will be those who advice You with all good intentions, like doing a (Things We Love to Do!) Hobby. But When we cannot even think straight or eat properly, “How can one do a Hobby? You can if you already have one and/or feel up to it. “The important thing is to find something that you will, “Really Like to Do” ❤

Stress 1
It can be drawing, painting, even housework or cooking your favourite dish, or anything that will distract you and make you, “Look forward in Doing”. Or it can be simple as, (We Each have Our Own Path!)” Just sitting and looking out of the window at the sky to see how the clouds go by and the birds fly or how the moon comes up and the stars”. Know and follow what works best for You ❤

I have now realized that with medical help of counselling and medication, and on our part if we work hard on becoming well with, “Dedication, Persistence and Perseverance”, We can make progress in getting over most of the effects of trauma and, “Ultimately learn to put back the past and lead a Successful Success in Life! and Happy Life. Why don’t you try it too ❤ I wish you so and have Strength and Patience to do so ❤

Hope all of you are keeping well and happy. Today I thought of  Writing about the value of writing by hand. As in this increasing digital age, so many have, and are turning to type and swipe, on the computers, laptops, I pads and phones than using pencils or pens to write by hand. In my case I do use all that but, have always liked to write by pens and pencils too from my school days, and still continue to write using my various pens to write. How many of you still still love Writing by hand?

A study in psychological science has been found that students who take down notes by hand, rather than by laptops are better able to remember and grasp the subject. This is because when we are Writing by hand we tend to concentrate and write slowly, be more selective, rephrase and summarise, and choose the most important information, to include in the notes. This makes the brain works more efficiently and we are able to understand the content clearly and memorize better 🙂

The studies with small kindergarten children also showed that, those who learnt the alphabet by Writing exercises, learnt it faster and better than those learning from the key board system. On the whole children both young and old, acquired a better understanding of the language, and were better able to express more ideas with a multitude of  Words !

Writing  journaling are excellent ways for understanding and recovering from stress and Trauma ! In my opinion, the best way to put the mind in order is writing out what is going on in the mind. Typing out also yes but, “Writing  by hand puts in that extra effort and forces out something from inside of you, that cannot really happen from typing” As the hand yields to the emotions inside of you, and helps better to let go or organize your mind in a much better way ❤W 4aa
Evidence from new research show the psychological benefits of handwriting. How those who wrote by hand, were more likely to find relief from anxiety, fear and worry than those tapping on a computer. It also shows that jotting down our thoughts and feelings not only help people understand and recover from stress and Healing ~ Trauma ! but also help those with chronic conditions such as asthma and arthritis, those recovering from surgery and even those battling terminal or life-threatening diseases !

The fact that some who rarely or never use handwriting as an outlet to express themselves, is a sad fact as journaling is so helpful in clarifying one’s thoughts!

Writing by hand is a very personal and creative experience. I know as I am very fond of writing by hand. It helps one to be more aware of what is going on in the mind and helps the mind to stay in balance, healthy and happy. So why don’t you try too? If by now if you have not tried 😛

End The Stigma!

Hello To All My Dear Readers ❤

So many have appreciated and given a good response to my first article, End The Stigma ~ Discrimination Stops with You! that I am bringing you further information and proof that, we need to end the stigma on, “Mental Health” and see that those who need help in making their minds well, are free and able to seek medical help, and become well and be healthy and happy people, to be an asset to the progress of the society and the world. We all know that, the mind is also in our body and we need to have both our body and mind in good health to be able to lead a normal and happy life, for ourselves and to be of help to others. We do take care of our eyes, teeth and other parts of our body isn’t it. So why not the mind too ❤
Food 1What some people are not aware is that even as children, those who become unwell or have certain issues while growing up, they need to have medical help. Or they will grow up to be sick and confused adults, not knowing who they are and what they need to do in their lives and become a problem to their families, the society and the world!
All walks of life are concerned, and so many are working towards a society and a world of people who are healthy in their mind as well as the body ❤

Those of you who are reading, and seeing all these posts, now need to be able to feel that, “YOU ARE NOT ALONE” ~ “YOU ARE JUST LIKE ANY OTHER HUMAN BEING” ~ “YOU ARE VALUABLE” and do not be shy or afraid to go to a doctor, or some medical help anytime you have issues with your mind. “IT IS NOT BEING MAD” as some people think. “IT IS JUST THAT YOUR MIND ALSO HAS THE RIGHT TO BE A LITTLE ILL and NEED SOME MEDICATION and LOVING KINDNESS” ~ “IT IS YOUR LIFE AND IT IS IMPORTANT TO YOU” ~ “YOU NEED TO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF” ❤
