Hope all of you are keeping well. It’s very very cold but I am continuing to write, and my giving of Gifts continues. Cold brings more warm clothes food and indoor games to do. The fact is it seems I have gone overboard of collecting too much. There are so many who are in need but at this time I am unable to give out as I want! I know doesn’t sound realistic, but this is what I am going through right now.
Some have moved to warm places, and I am unable to get at so many actually who can make use of what I have collected. These are some cushions that I saw on the I net pretty aren’t they 🙂

Hope You are keeping well. Today I am going to write about a complete different Topic that hardly anyone knows about, it is about “”Ola Leaf” “Ola leaf is a palm leaf used for writing in traditional palm-leaf manuscripts and in fortune telling (horoscopes) in Southern India[ and Sri Lanka
The leaves are from the talipot tree, a type of palm, and fortunes are written on them from ancient times and read by specialist fortune tellers. It is believed that three thousand years ago the seven rishis or, sages, wrote on the leaves. The National Library of Sri Lanka holds an ola-leaf manuscript collection.
Sacred Buddhist texts from Tibet, made in the old manner – on narrow horizontal strips of paper, written in Tibetan.
Sinhala letters are round-shaped and are written from left to right. They are the most circular-shaped script found in the Indic scripts. The evolution of the script to the present shapes may have taken place due to writing on ola leaves. The ground of a text more or less determines the way it is written down. Unlike chiseling on a rock for example, writing on palm leaves has to be more round-shaped to avoid the stylus ripping the palm leaf while writing on it. When drawing vertical or horizontal straight lines on Ola leaf, the leaves would have been even torn. Periods and commas were later introduced into Sinhala script after the introduction of paper due to the influence of Western language.
The word Ola derives from the Tamil word Ōlai, meaning palm leaf.
Description
It is one of the largest palms with individual specimens having reached heights of up to 25 m (82 ft) with stems up to 1.3 m (4.3 ft) in diameter. It is a fan palm (Aceraceae tribe Coryphaei), with large, palmate leaves up to 5 m (16 ft) in diameter, with a petiole up to 4 m (13 ft)..
The talipot palm bears the largest inflorescence of any plant, 6–8 m (20–26 ft) long, consisting of one to several million small flowers borne on a branched stalk that forms at the top of the trunk (the titan arum, from the family Araceae, has the largest unbranched inflorescence, and the species has the world’s largest single flower). The talipot palm is flowering only once, when it is 30 to 80 years old. It takes about a year for the fruit to mature, producing thousands of rounds, yellow-green fruit 3–4 cm (1–1.5 in) in diameter, each containing a single seed.
