Ola Leaf ~ 2025!

Hello to My Readers, Followers and Blogging Friend ❤

Hope You are keeping well. Today I am going to write about a complete different Topic that hardly anyone knows about, it is about “”Ola Leaf” “Ola leaf is a palm leaf used for writing in traditional palm-leaf manuscripts and in fortune telling (horoscopes) in Southern India[ and Sri Lanka

The leaves are from the talipot tree, a type of palm, and fortunes are written on them from ancient times and read by specialist fortune tellers. It is believed that three thousand years ago the seven rishis or, sages, wrote on the leaves. The National Library of Sri Lanka holds an ola-leaf manuscript collection.

Sacred Buddhist texts from Tibet, made in the old manner – on narrow horizontal strips of paper, written in Tibetan.

Composition

[edit]

Sinhala letters are round-shaped and are written from left to right. They are the most circular-shaped script found in the Indic scripts. The evolution of the script to the present shapes may have taken place due to writing on ola leaves. The ground of a text more or less determines the way it is written down. Unlike chiseling on a rock for example, writing on palm leaves has to be more round-shaped to avoid the stylus ripping the palm leaf while writing on it. When drawing vertical or horizontal straight lines on Ola leaf, the leaves would have been even torn. Periods and commas were later introduced into Sinhala script after the introduction of paper due to the influence of Western language.

The word Ola derives from the Tamil word Ōlai, meaning palm leaf.

Description

It is one of the largest palms with individual specimens having reached heights of up to 25 m (82 ft) with stems up to 1.3 m (4.3 ft) in diameter. It is a fan palm (Aceraceae tribe Coryphaei), with large, palmate leaves up to 5 m (16 ft) in diameter, with a petiole up to 4 m (13 ft)..

The talipot palm bears the largest inflorescence of any plant, 6–8 m (20–26 ft) long, consisting of one to several million small flowers borne on a branched stalk that forms at the top of the trunk (the titan arum, from the family Araceae, has the largest unbranched inflorescence, and the species has the world’s largest single flower). The talipot palm is flowering only once, when it is 30 to 80 years old. It takes about a year for the fruit to mature, producing thousands of rounds, yellow-green fruit 3–4 cm (1–1.5 in) in diameter, each containing a single seed.

Distribution

The talipot palm is cultivated in South India and Sri Lanka. It is also cultivated in Southeast Asian countries of CambodiaMyanmarThailand and the Andaman Islands. It is also grown sparsely in China.

This is a very rare information which even I have gone into details and found new information. I am sure you have seen the tree and Ola leaves itself written in different Languages. Happy Reading 🙂

Latest News ~ On My Health!

Hello To, All My Dear Readers followers and Blogging Friends ❤

Hello to you all this is from year 2020. Update: 1st March 2025: I am re- doing some of the articles as after so much of posts and even getting well and even being Fully Qualified I Have Qualified!as a Professional Psychologist Msc and PhD some Foolish People still trying to say I am not well! I am completely recovered from, “The low moods I was going through, and am completely in Good Health now. I have expanded my knowledge and gained more experiences in life. I have moved on tremendously from the past and am moving on and see The World in Full Colour 🙂

Sigmund Freud: If you’ve ever heard of the phrase, “a Freudian slip,” it’s actually named after this famous psychologist, Sigmund Freud. Often coined the Father of Psychology, Freud was the brain behind psychoanalysis, a treatment that taps into our unconscious following the belief that our current struggles are shaped by past traumas and experiences

Albert Einstein We can comfortably say that Albert Einstein is likely the most recognized scientist to have ever lived. His name is so well known that it’s used as a common nickname whenever someone does something smart. This German theoretical physicist is so much more than just a name though; he’s made several groundbreaking discoveries throughout his lifetime, including being the brain behind developing the theory of relativity.

“Some of the old articles are my past”, and I want to write how I am, “Now” the Present time. In short, one can say I am “Editing All the Posts in a Positive way” I value my health very much, especially now as I am completely healthy. “I have a Healthy diet, Proper exercises, Rest and Relaxation so that I am fit and healthy, both in body and mind” 🙂

This is something that “Even some of the so called highly educated people think and say and do” IT IS TIME TO CHANGE” This is why I am writing and doing this blog. Not to earn money, But to make people aware and enlighten the foolish!!! Sorry I do NOT MEAN to OFFEND but these are real things that “I have gone through” and some are going through and I am writing on, “Behalf of whole of Humanity” ❤

“My Intentions are Purely to Help, to give Hope to Lead A Healthy Life” ~ To Give Faith and Hope that they too can lift their heads up and Be Healthy”. Sometimes the world, the society can be a very cruel and a vicious place!!!
Why people get sad or upset is because they are unable to be who they are and do the things that they really like. Yes we know we all have to abide by some form of discipline. We need to fit into family, work, society to some extent, we cannot just say and do things only how it suits us, but FREEDOM is Very Important. You can click this link to read this post: Freedom To Be You!

Erich Seligmann Fromm (March 23, 1900 – March 18, 1980) was a German-born American social psychologist,   psychoanalystsociologisthumanistic philosopher. Fromm believed that freedom was an aspect of human nature that we either embrace or escape. He observed that embracing our freedom of will was healthy,

Behavior – “If other people do not understand our behavior what we can do. We behave according to our personalities”.
Their request that, “We must only do what they understand, is an attempt to, ‘Dictate’ as mostly they ‘Resent’ our ‘Freedom’ and our ‘Courage’ to be ourselves.
We owe nobody an explanation or an accounting, as long as, ‘Our acts Do Not Hurt or Infringe them’.
How many lives have been ‘Affected’ by this need to explain, which usually implies that the explanation be, ‘Understood’ i.e. Approved.
“Let Your Deeds be Judged”. And ‘From Your Deeds ~ Your real Intentions’
But know that, “A Free Person Owes an Explanation Only to Himself or Herself” And to, “The Few” “Who may have Justified Claim for Explanation” ~ Erich Fromm ❤

But sometimes people are controlled too much. Instead of “adjusting” to fit in or live in harmony with another person or persons (it can be any life situation), sometimes people have to “completely change” from who they are. This is going completely against our natural way of life, our personality that we are born with. You can think of yourself wearing a dress or suit that is not to your colour style or eating foods that is not to your taste. How do you feel? Uncomfortable. No? Why? “BECAUSE ALL PEOPLE ARE BORN TO BE FREE, and ALWAYS HAS THE NEED TO FEEL FREE and at PEACE” When people are not “Allowed to be who they are, “ACCORDING TO EACH PERSON’S PERSONALITY” to be able to live the WAY THEY ARE BORN TO LIVE. You can go to this post if You click this link: Freedom ~ In Healing! ❤

Education is Very Important. So we can Learn so many things ourselves as, “We are the only people who know exactly what and how we want to act and do things, to be relaxed, comfortable and at ease, as “The term Dis-ease simply means lack of ease or harmony within the body”.

I hope you like what I wrote and learnt something new, or remembered things you already knew. I know it is sometimes not easy, but have Courage and try as much as do things for you to be relaxed and Happy 🙂

The Role of Food in Ayurvedic Medicine.

In Ayurveda everyone has a different combination of three doshas or energy types: Vata (which regulates movement), Pitta (which regulates digestion and metabolism), and Kapha (which regulates growth and support). Anything such as anxiety or a poor diet that interrupt the stability of the doshas, and a number of sub-components, can have unfavorable physical and mental consequences. Once the accurate type of imbalance has been recognized, the practitioner suggests a tailor-made strategy.

The diet is a fundamental element of the Ayurvedic healing practice and a practitioner will question you strictly about yours. He will advise you to eat more or less of specific kinds of food, herbs, and spices—depending on your dosha—with the intention of bringing your body back into balance. When the body is well-nourished and in its place, it is adequately empowered to fight off disease, and illnesses are less prone to occur. Basic ingredients in Ayurvedic diet include basil, ginger, fenugreek, garlic, Gotu kola, turmeric, and sesame seed oil.

In ayurveda texts, dosha balance is emphasized, and suppressing natural urges is considered unhealthy and claimed to lead to illness. Ayurveda treatises describe three elemental doshasvātapitta and kapha, and state that balance of the doshas results in health, while imbalance results in disease. Ayurveda treatises divide medicine into eight canonical components. Ayurveda practitioners had developed various medicinal preparations.

Ayurveda follows the concept of Dinacharya, which says that natural cycles (waking, sleeping, working, meditation etc.) are important for health. Hygiene, including regular bathing, cleaning of teeth, skin care, and eye washing, is also a central practice.

What is Dinacharya?
Dinacharya focuses on undertaking certain activities in order to balance the doshas that rise or drop according to the time of the day. By following the Dinacharya as mentioned in Ayurvedic medicine, you lead a more disciplined life and set your daily routine to align yourself with nature and remain disease-free and happy. Here is an insight into the concept of Dinacharya and how it can be used effectively to restore your body’s natural rhythm. Dina means ‘day’ and ‘acharya’ means ‘activity’. According to Ayurveda, it is a daily regime that includes self-care and helps you achieve alignment of self with nature and greater self-awareness. If you follow dinacharya, you can live in harmony with nature, get rid of diseases and stress, improve your bodily processes, experience internal peace, and thus lead a healthier and happier life

I hope what I have written, and the pictures has given You all a clear idea and knowledge of what Ayurveda is. And some of you will like to use or try what is aggregable according to what you like. I am very grateful to my grandfathers for his teaching and Knowledge given to ma as well as Asset’s given to me for Good Health and to carry on following their Dedication for “Pure Service 🙂
