Easing minor eye injuries. If the eye sustains a hit by a ball, elbow, or other hard object, placing a cold tea bag compress on the area for 15 minutesTrusted Source may reduce pain and swelling.

Reducing dark circles under the eyes. Dilated blood vessels below the eyes may play a part in dark circles. Holding a cold tea bag over the area may make the vessels constrict.

Shrinking bags under the eyes. A cool tea bag compress may improve the appearance of puffiness or mild swelling under the eyes.

Soothing red eyes. Red or bloodshot eyes occur when the blood vessels under the surface of the eye become irritated. Placing cold tea bag compresses over the eyes may help ease this irritation.

As a warm compress

The benefits of using tea bags as a warm compress include:

  • Reducing blepharitisBlepharitis refers to inflammation of the eyelids due to bacteria, scalp dandruff, or problems with oil glands in the eyelids. Holding a warm tea bag over closed eyes for at least 1 minute may loosen the flakes that are stuck to the eyelashes and prevent oil glands from clogging.
  • Draining a stye. A blocked oil gland usually causes a stye, which is a red, painful lump that grows under the eyelid or at the base of the eyelid. The medical term for this is a chalazion. Applying heat with a warm tea bag compress to the stye for 10–15 minutes two to three times per day may help release the pus and heal the stye.
  • Relieving dry eyesDry eyes occur when the eyes do not produce enough tears, or when the tears evaporate too quickly. Putting warm tea bags on the eyes may release oil from the glands and improve the quality of tears.

There is no evidence to suggest that using a tea bag is any better than using a clean washcloth soaked in cold or warm water, however.

Types

Different types of tea may have different benefits for eye and skin health. Black, green, and white teas have antioxidants and caffeine that may help with some eye conditions, whereas herbal teas may soothe eye irritation and inflammation. heal burns injuriesTrusted Source and scars

soothe burns from sun exposure

prevent sunburn

Applying caffeine may help Trusted Source improve skin elasticity and reduce dark eye circles, as well as reduce swelling Trusted Source and pigmentation.

Chamomile tea
People have traditionally used chamomile tea to relieve eye infections, blocked tear ducts, and conjunctivitis. It also contains flavonoids, so it may be helpful to reduce inflammation.

Calendula tea Some people believe that calendula tea can decrease swelling and help new tissue grow. However, there is limited scientific evidence on using calendula for skin and eye health.

To make a cold or warm tea bag compress for the eyes:

  • Steep two tea bags in hot water.
  • Squeeze out the liquid from the tea bags.
  • To use as a warm compress, wait for them to cool down slightly.
  • To use as a cold compress, cool them in the refrigerator.
  • Place the tea bags on closed eyes for up to 15 minutes.
  • Repeat as often as needed.

The eyes are very sensitive, so people should always be cautious when using tea bags for this purpose. Never use hot tea bags on the eyes and stop using them if there is any irritation. Putting tea bags on the eyes may also be unsuitable for children.

Summary

Tea bags are an effective means of applying cold and warm compresses to the eyes. Cold and warm compresses help relieve the symptoms of many eye and skin conditions. Evidence is accumulating to suggest that black and green tea may be useful for eye and skin health. Always be cautious when using any alternative or home remedies on the eyes, as they are a sensitive area.

The Role of Food in Ayurvedic Medicine.

In Ayurveda everyone has a different combination of three doshas or energy types: Vata (which regulates movement), Pitta (which regulates digestion and metabolism), and Kapha (which regulates growth and support). Anything such as anxiety or a poor diet that interrupt the stability of the doshas, and a number of sub-components, can have unfavorable physical and mental consequences. Once the accurate type of imbalance has been recognized, the practitioner suggests a tailor-made strategy.

The diet is a fundamental element of the Ayurvedic healing practice and a practitioner will question you strictly about yours. He will advise you to eat more or less of specific kinds of food, herbs, and spices—depending on your dosha—with the intention of bringing your body back into balance. When the body is well-nourished and in its place, it is adequately empowered to fight off disease, and illnesses are less prone to occur. Basic ingredients in Ayurvedic diet include basil, ginger, fenugreek, garlic, Gotu kola, turmeric, and sesame seed oil.

In ayurveda texts, dosha balance is emphasized, and suppressing natural urges is considered unhealthy and claimed to lead to illness. Ayurveda treatises describe three elemental doshasvātapitta and kapha, and state that balance of the doshas results in health, while imbalance results in disease. Ayurveda treatises divide medicine into eight canonical components. Ayurveda practitioners had developed various medicinal preparations.

Ayurveda follows the concept of Dinacharya, which says that natural cycles (waking, sleeping, working, meditation etc.) are important for health. Hygiene, including regular bathing, cleaning of teeth, skin care, and eye washing, is also a central practice.

What is Dinacharya?
Dinacharya focuses on undertaking certain activities in order to balance the doshas that rise or drop according to the time of the day. By following the Dinacharya as mentioned in Ayurvedic medicine, you lead a more disciplined life and set your daily routine to align yourself with nature and remain disease-free and happy. Here is an insight into the concept of Dinacharya and how it can be used effectively to restore your body’s natural rhythm. Dina means ‘day’ and ‘acharya’ means ‘activity’. According to Ayurveda, it is a daily regime that includes self-care and helps you achieve alignment of self with nature and greater self-awareness. If you follow dinacharya, you can live in harmony with nature, get rid of diseases and stress, improve your bodily processes, experience internal peace, and thus lead a healthier and happier life

Psychology ~ Relaxing!

Hello to, All My Dear Readers Followers and Blogging Friends ❤

I hope all of you are keeping well. Today I thought of writing about Psychology of Relaxing after wring about stress I though it’s an ideal Topic to write next. I hope as usual you all will like what I am writing 🙂

In psychologyrelaxation is the emotional state of low tension. Relaxation is a form of mild Relaxation can be achieved through meditationprogressive muscle relaxation and other means. Relaxation helps improve coping with stress. Stress is the leading cause of mental and physical problems, therefore feeling relaxed is often beneficial for a person’s health.

Techniques

Although stress levels vary across society, the fact remains that stress can be not good to one’s health. In order to combat this stress, there have been a variety of methods developed that have been proven to reduce stress and its consequences in everyday life. The can be Physical, Mental or Therapeutic!

Physical

Breathing techniques are one of the easiest ways to reduce stress. They require little effort and can be done anywhere at any time. Proper breathing techniques that incorporate deep abdominal breathing have been shown to reduce the physical symptoms of low moods. A study found to be effective in reducing negative mood and stress. These consist of deep breaths followed by extended, relatively longer exhales.

Progressive muscle relaxation is a technique wherein people focus on flexing and holding a certain set of muscles and then slowly relaxing them and focusing attention on a group of muscles. Gradually, from top to bottom, one might feel a deep sense of relaxation. Progressive muscle relaxation is currently used in clinical and non-clinical settings to reduce the effects of anxiety and sleeplessness brought upon by
stress.

Mental:

Mental health is very important and needs to be worked on every day. Relaxation can help with many difficulties that can occur in one’s mental health. There is a higher mood and lower anxiety in those who practice relaxation techniques. Those who are relaxed have much slower and clearer thought processes than those who are not relaxed. It is well known that relaxation can help reduce stress. With reducing stress, a person can Relax and Recharge Mentally and become much stronger in mind and body both 🙂

Meditation has long been practiced around the world, but has only become commonplace relatively recently in North America. Studies suggest that in addition to reducing physiological and psychological stresses placed on a body, people who practice meditation have fewer doctor visits for physical or psychological illnesses. The relaxation of meditation response reduces blood pressure, muscle tension. It increases the immune response, helps attention and decision making. The relaxation response is achieved through meditation from:

  1. Start by sitting upright and comfortably, dropping your gaze. Don’t force yourself to relax, but simply sit quietly and allow your mind to float freely until it settles down.
  2. When we simply sit and breathe, we activate the body’s calming response. It allows the brain to display the calm, smooth, harmonious waves called alpha brain waves—like the waves of the ocean, coming in to the shore and rolling back out. Coming in and going out. Breathing in and breathing out. Relax.
  3. Drop your shoulders, relax the jaw, and unfurl your brow. Allow your mind to float freely until it settles down. Let thoughts come and go as they please.
  4. Bring your attention back gently to your breath. Don’t exert yourself trying to block thoughts. Just remain passive and remind your body that we’re sitting now, we’re breathing now, we’re relaxing now. Sit quietly, stay with your breath. Like the waves of the ocean, breathing in, breathing out. Let thoughts fade into the background. Relax. To be still, to be quiet, to be at ease. This is the gift of relaxation.
  5. A comfortable position.
  6. quiet environment to help focus.
  7. A positive attitude to avoid getting upset.
Relax Concept

Relaxation therapy has recently become another technique used to promote relaxation. When performed correctly, it puts a person into a state of deep relaxation. addition to relaxation, therapy is used to treat a variety of for conditions such as asthma, and allergies.[Many relaxation techniques, including physical ones,

Therapeutic

Relaxation techniques used in therapy by a certified counselor or therapist could include any of the previous techniques discussed. Professionals in the fields of psychology or counseling can administer a variety of these techniques. If they feel it is appropriate they may prescribe medication to assist the patient with relaxation. Although a number of these techniques are simple and can be performed on one’s own time, patients may receive better results if they are guided by a professional who is very familiar with the techniques.

Mental

Mental health is very important and needs to be worked on every day. Relaxation can help with many difficulties that can occur in one’s mental health. There is a higher mood and lower anxiety in those who practice relaxation techniques. Those who are relaxed have much slower and clearer thought processes than those who are not relaxed. It is well known that relaxation can help reduce stress. With reducing stress, a person can help reduce the negative things that stress can do to the body and mind!

Activities, lifestyle.

Taking walks in nature can be used to induce or support relaxation. Studies indicate taking walks in nature is more effective than walking elsewhere, walking on a treadmill, and viewing nature scenes, and that “spending at least 120 minutes a week is associated “with good health and wellbeing”.

Benefits:

The benefits of relaxation can be found in three main areas of health; mental, physical and physiological. It can elevate mood or induce sleep. All of these things can help prolong and enhance life. Sleep difficulties are an area that can produce stress and mental health issues. Relaxation may help reduce lack of sleep. in those who have sleeping disorders. Those with can or may even give up sleeping aids just by practicing relaxation techniques. Avoiding unnecessary medication or sleep aids can help good health.

Physical:

Physical health is also something that needs to be worked on whether it is exercise, healthy eating, or relaxation. when one is relaxed. helps one’s body have time to rest. and sleep that gives the body extra time to rest and focus on other things that it needs to. This could be seen as a good thing, depending on the overall quality of health. People who practice relaxation have said to be able to have better both mentally and physically!

Physiological:

Relaxation can also play a big role. A person will go from active and alert, which is rest and digest. When they are relaxing, it gives the body time to catch up. A person does not need to worry about running, because they are sitting still and allowing “rest and digest”. Immune systems will sometimes benefit from increased relaxation which is why relaxation can be seen as part of treatment for good health.

You can see from all these posts many many things you can do in order to relax and relieve stress. You will also notice many things are about how to enjoy nature. We need to live in ways that we are close to nature as much as possible. Even if you lead busy lives in the city, once in a way to go to the beach, rivers, parks, even a swim in a pool will bring your body closer to the natural state. Below is a picture that you can see some more of what You can do. Hope you read up and follow some of them

Psychology ~Stress!

Hello To, All My Readers Followers and Blogging Friends ❤

I hope all of you are keeping well. Today I thought of writing about Psychology of Strss. I hope you all will like what I am writing. Did you know that stress can also be positive? Good stress, called eustress, can actually be beneficial to you. Unlike bad stress, or distress, good stress can help with motivation, focus, energy, and performance. For some people, it can also feel exciting. Definition from the I net: “A state of mental or emotional strain or tension resulting from demanding circumstances”. Stress can be defined as a state of worry or mental tension caused by a difficult situati0n. World Health Organization!

On the other hand, bad stress typically causes anxiety, concern, and a decrease in performance. It also feels uncomfortable, and it can lead to more serious issues if not addressed. Good stress, called eustress, can actually be beneficial to you. Unlike bad stress, or distress, good stress can help with motivation, focus,

Psychological stress signs

There’s a distinction between a stressor and actual stress. A stressor can be a person, place, or situation that’s causing you stress. Stress is the actual response to one or a combination of those stressors. There are any number of situations that can cause stress.

LIFESTYLE FACTORS: That add to stress rather than reduce stress!

There are any number of situations that can cause stress. Some of the more common stressors include:

  • Issues at home
  • new or increasing work responsibilities
  • increasing demands
  • financial strain
  • health problems
  • moving to a new location
  • exposure to one or more difficult issues.

Poor coping skills fail to reduce stress
1. Poor emotion regulation skills.
2. Poor time management.
3. Lack of system process.
4. Poor boundary setting.
5. Absence of routine.

  • Ways to manage stress
  • When it comes to managing stress, making simple changes can go a long way in improving your overall health and reducing stress. Having tools and strategies you can turn to in stressful situations can prevent your stress levels from escalating.
  • Find a balance

It’s important to structure some of your time so that you can be comfortably busy without being overwhelmed, Be kind to yourself Understanding that you aren’t weak because you’re feeling stress is important, Stress is a very normal reaction to the stressors in your life.

Lean on the people you trust

Before your stress levels escalate, reach out to someone you trust, such as a friend, family member, or coworker. Sharing your feelings or venting your concerns may help to reduce your stress.

Eat well-balanced, meals When it comes to managing stress, proper nutrition is your friend. You can see Foods that help you need not be expensive. Fruits and vegetables that are available from your garden even in rivers, the sea and forestlands.

Keep a journal

Set aside time to reflect on your day. Can be free time how you can manage. Write down any thoughts or feelings you’re having. This can be a useful tool to help you better understand your stressors and how you react to stress. You can start from any old diary or blank papaers.

None of us work 24/7 and there is always some free time to relax. Also relaxing does not need a lot of money either. Of course if one has extra money to spend, there are many expensive ways to relax. But actually you do not need to spend like that. As relaxing is becoming one with mother nature. The closer you become to mother earth, by ways of food, clothes and living the closer you become to a stress free life. It is difficult to lead a complete stress free life in this present times. But there are plenty of simple ways to relax like the post above, and below, to reduce our stress levels and enjoy a balanced and healthy life ❤

Exercise regularly

Engaging in regular physical activity can improve your overall health and reduce your stress levels. When you exercise, your body releases endorphins. These feel-good hormones can also ease symptoms of depression and anxiety. Practice relaxation exercise These exercises, which can include deep, slow breathing and progressive muscle relaxation, involve tensing and then relaxing various groups of muscles. Or any type of physical activities that you can manage like walking, running, swimming whatever you can where you are living 🙂

Get plenty of rest

Your ability to manage stress decreases when you’re tired. Try to get a recommended seven to nine hours each night. If you have insomnia, aim to get as much sleep as you can, then build in periods of rest during the day.

Working with a professional

A therapist or mental health professional can also help you find ways to manage your stress. Consider working with a mental health professional if your stress is accompanied by daily headaches, or fatigue You should also see a mental health professional if you have feelings of depression.

When looking for a mental health professional, ask friends or family members for referrals.

  • Will you trust the therapist?
  • Do you feel heard and understood?
  • Do you feel comfortable to speak up if you disagree with them?
  • Can you see that they care about you as an individual?

You can see from all these posts many many things you can do in order to relax and relieve stress. You will also notice many things are about how to enjoy nature. We need to live in ways that we are close to nature as much as possible. Even if you lead busy lives in the city, once in a way to go to the beach, rivers, parks, even a swim in a pool will bring your body closer to the natural state. Psychology ~Singing!

Hello To, All My Readers Followers and Blogging Friends ❤

I hope all of you are keeping well. Today I thought of writing about Psychology of Singing. I hope you all will like what I am writing. It is both Western and Kirtan (Devotional) Singing ❤

Singing, the production of musical tones by means of the human voice. In its physical aspect, singing has a well-defined technique that depends on the use of the lungs, which act as an air supply,, which have the function of an amplifier, as the tube in a wind instrument; and on the tongue, which together with the palate, teeth, and lips articulate and impose consonants and vowels on the amplified sound. Though these four mechanisms function independently, they are nevertheless coordinated in the establishment of a vocal technique and are made to interact upon one another.

Singing versus speaking

Singing is distinguished from speaking by the manner in which the breath is expended to vibrate the vocal cords. Singing requires more breath the louder, higher, and longer one sings. It also requires that the emission of breath be more firmly controlled. A pertinent analogy is the function of the instrumentalist’s breath in playing a reed instrument—e.g., a clarinet, an oboe, or a saxophone. The technique of singing depends ultimately on the coordination of the various anatomical mechanisms in order to produce a propulsion of sound in a steady flow. A further distinction between singing and speaking is the control that is required, in singing, of the movement and reflexes of the larynx. As one sings higher, the larynx tends to rise sympathetically and at a certain point becomes an interference causing the voice to break, or crack. Not much movement of the larynx occurs within a singer’s normal range, which is usually about an octave and a third. Beyond that range, either above or below, an element of technical accomplishment sets the professional off from the unschooled amateur.

The character of Western singing

Western singing is distinguished above all by its volume. Singers of other cultures may have a wider range, particularly a greater upward extension; but it is doubtful that they have sung louder. Western singing is also distinguished by its concern with pure sound, with the tone quality, or timbre, and with colour, with what is felt to be the sheer beauty of the voice itself. Both singers and their listeners, in Western music more than any other, have tended to lose sight of song’s roots in language and to think of singing as a purely instrumental production. Modern Western styles of singing largely derive from the Italian bel canto, which had its origin in a style associated with the polyphonic music of the 16th century. Because this music expressed the significance or the moods of the text, a great range of expression was required from the singers, who, in these polyphonic works, assumed something of the function of a vocal orchestra. The art of singing accordingly evolved to allow the singers the maximum power and variety of expression.

THE CHARACTER OF DEVOTIONAL SINGING KIRTAN:

Kirtana (Sanskrit: कीर्तन; IASTKīrtana), also rendered as Kirtan or Keertan, is a Sanskrit word that means “narrating, reciting, telling, describing” of an idea or story, specifically in Indian religions. It also refers to a genre of religious performance arts, a musical form of narration or shared recitation, particularly of spiritual or religious ideas, native to the Indian subcontinent. A person performing kirtan is known as a kirtankara (or kirtankar, कीर्तनकार). With roots in the Vedic anukirtana tradition, a kirtan is a call-and-response or song or chant, set to music, wherein multiple singers recite the names of a deity, describe a legend, express loving devotion to a deity, or discuss spiritual ideas. It may include dancing or direct expression of bhavas (emotive states) by the singer. Many kirtan performances are structured to engage the audience where they either repeat the chant, or reply to the call of the singer.

A kirtan performance includes an accompaniment of regionally popular musical instruments, especially Indian instruments like the Indian harmonium, the veenasitar, or ektara (strings), the tabla (one-sided drums), the mrdanga or pakhawaj (two-sided drum), flute (woodwinds), and karatalas or talas (cymbals). It is a major practice in Hinduism, Vaisnava devotionalism, Sikhism, the Sant traditions, and some forms of Buddhism, as well as other religious groups. Kirtan is sometimes accompanied by story-telling and acting. Texts typically cover religious, mythological or social subjects.

Traditionally Kirtan is a “Call and Response”” of chanting experience. The word Kirt is to name to Communicate, to Celebrate, to Praise, and is derived from the Bhakti Yoga. The path of union through Devotion that uses the Repetition of Sanskrit Mantras to invoke the Energy and Attributes of the Devine.

The singing of Bajans is also a part of Spiritual Music, Tradition of India and singing of songs in Prayers. Its Root Bhaj means to Worship with Deep Respect (Revere) and to Love. Both are Devotional music and have been practiced since ancient times. In more recent times Devotional music has been incorporated (To include) in to many modern musical styles so that they can like to so many around the world. and all voices are united (together) with others without needing and skill or practicing. It is wonderful way to play because it is free and is energized and takes us in a relaxing journey ❤

Happiness is needed and anything that gives us Happiness to the Heart need to be encouraged that raises the flow of Energy. In this increasing unnatural society with so much of stress singing is the medicine that help Relax and Energize us. Such a practice can help us face stress of modern life just by using ones own voice in song. Ah!! almost immediate relief of Healing to make Happy people and community 🙂
