Major in Psychology ~2!

Hello to, All My Dear Readers, Followers and My Blogging Friends ❤

Hope All of You are keeping in Good Health as possible. And Positive and Motivated. I have been writing about Various ways of Therapies to Become Well” And also about Your Purpose in Life! and why having one is so good for you. Taking after PURPOSE IN LIFE my students are very keen and interested studying. They want to study PSYCHOLOGY I am flattered and so HAPPY. And now going to the next post as unlike simple articles this is a very Advanced Topic!

Psychology is the scientific study, analysis, and investigation of behavior and mental processes. Psychologists actively study and understand human cognitive processes, and behavior.

Psychology Officially started as a Discipline in 1879 when the first Psychology lab was established in the University of Leipzig, in Germany.

What is Psychology?

Psychology is the scientific study, analysis, and investigation of behavior and mental processes. Psychologists actively study and understand human cognitive processes, and behavior.

Psychology is the scientific study of behavior and mental processes. Why study Psychology? The study will give you new ways to look at and interpret your world and the people who inhabit it.

The world of psychology contains looks and tones and feelings; it is the world of dark and light, of noise and silence, of rough and smooth; its space is sometimes large and sometimes small, as everyone knows who in adult life has gone back to his or her home; its time is sometimes short and sometimes long, It contains all the thoughts, emotions, memories, and imaginations,

The Scope of Psychology

As psychology has evolved as a science, its fields of specialization have multiplied, and its educational and training requirements have become formalized. Psychologists work in a variety of fields in academic and professional settings. Psychology should be the chief basic science upon which the practices of education depend. It should have supplied education with the information it needs concerning the processes of understanding, learning, and thinking, among other things. One of the difficulties has been that such theory as has been developed has been based primarily upon studies of behaviors.

Personality psychology is a branch of psychology that examines personality and its variation among individuals. It aims to show how people are individually different due to psychological forces. Its areas of focus include:

  • Describing what personality is
  • Documenting how personalities develop
  • Explaining the mental processes of personality and how they affect functioning
  • Providing a framework for understanding individuals
“Personality” is a dynamic and organized set of characteristics possessed by an individual that uniquely influences their environment, cognitionemotionsmotivations, and behaviors in various situations. The word personality originates from the Latin persona. Personality also pertains to the pattern of thoughtsfeelingssocial adjustments, and behaviors persistently exhibited over time that strongly influences one’s expectations, self-perceptionsvalues, and attitudes. Personality also predicts human reactions to other people, problems, and stress. described two major ways to study personality psychology is an attempt to understand the unique aspects of a particular individual. The biggest misconception (wrong thinking) about psychology is that it is not big (rigorous) enough to tackle the big, “important” questions because its methods as a field are limited. While psychology continues to be an important source of insights about human nature and potential, as a young and growing science it faces pressure from all sides to prove its worth.

Clinical psychology is a people’s science, behavioral science, theory, and clinical knowledge for the purpose of understanding, preventing, and relieving psychologically-based distress and to promote subjective well-being and personal development. Central to its practice are psychological assessment, and psychotherapy, although clinical psychologists also engage in research, teaching, consultation, and program development and administration. In many countries, clinical psychology is a regulated mental health profession. All the lessons of psychiatry, psychology, social work, indeed culture, have taught us over the last hundred years that it is the acceptance of differences, not the search for similarities which enables people to relate to each other in their personal or family lives.

Organizational psychologists work with people and organizations. They are experts in areas such as leadership and talent management, recruitment, performance management, occupational health and safety, change management and career development. The Master of Organizational Psychology will provide you with the skills, knowledge and qualifications to work in a wide range of organizations such as consultancies, large companies and government departments. The practical basis of the medical profession rested on psychology. Everyone felt better when self-confident, when Doctors relieved others of the responsibility for deciding what to do. As such, their role was strictly medical.

Below is a picture showing all the posts percentages just for you to have an idea of what all the other posts are about!

Psychology students spend a great deal of time learning about research methods and statistics. Even if you don’t particularly love the research process, learning more about how to gather, organize, analyze, and interpret data can be an important skill in a wide variety of careers. For example, educators, administrators, scientists, marketers, and advertisers often perform such tasks in order to make decisions, evaluate progress, and complete projects.

Prepare for Graduate Study
An undergraduate degree in psychology can be an excellent starting point for graduate study. Many students choose to earn a graduate degree in psychology, while others opt to further their education in a related field such as counseling, education, or social work.

Even if you plan on pursuing a different field in graduate school, you may still find majoring in psychology helpful. Having a background in human psychology can also lead to further study in law, medicine, or the life sciences.

Let’s imagine that in addition to your strong interest in psychology, you also love sports and physical fitness. While the two subjects might seem only distantly related at first, they actually make up a major specialty area known as sports psychology. One benefit of earning a psychology degree is that you can pursue a career path aligned with your passions and interests.

A student who enjoys working with young children can specialize in developmental psychology with a focus on early childhood development, while another student who is fascinated by the aging process could earn a degree in the same subject with a focus on the elderly.

I. Interestingly, psychologists who specialize in working with aging people may also have particularly great job prospects. Gero psychology, a field that uses psychology knowledge to help aging adults, is expected to be a growing field in psychology. Geropsychology is a specialty in professional psychology that focuses on understanding, treating, and improving the mental health of older adults. It applies the knowledge and methods of psychology to help older persons and their families maintain well-being, overcome problems, and achieve maximum potential during later life.

Choosing psychology as a major can be a rewarding decision for those interested in understanding human behavior and helping others. It opens doors to various career opportunities and provides a strong foundation for further studies in psychology or related fields. If you enjoy analyzing behavior, conducting research, and working with people, psychology may be the right path for you.

I hope what I have written and The Knowledge will be Useful and You have learnt new facts. And also You will be able to Enjoy going through The Picture Quotes as I have done quite bit of Making them more colourful and Attractive I am in Good Health and as, “I have been able to, “Receive Healing Energy into My Hands” since “Beginning of 2016” All my Hard work and Praying has been rewarded. Healing Energy can go to others too, and wherever it is needed to be received with a Clear Mind and Lot of Loving Kindness ❤

Employers highly prize the skills that you acquire during your study of psychology, such as analyzing data, communicating complex information, and understanding human behavior.

While around 64% of the 1.3 million people with a bachelor’s in psychology say that their degree is directly related to their current career, the remainder put their knowledge of psychology to work in other professions.

These could include:

Sales

Advertising

Business

Education

Health services

Human resources

Management

Marketing

Public affairs

Conclusion

Choosing psychology as a major can be a rewarding decision for those interested in understanding human behavior and helping others. It opens doors to various career opportunities and provides a strong foundation for further studies in psychology or related fields. If you enjoy analyzing behavior, conducting research, and working with people, psychology may be the right path for you.

Main Therapies!

Hello to, All My Dear Readers, Followers and My Blogging Friends ❤

Hope All of You are keeping in Good Health as much as possible. And “Keeping yourself Positive and Motivated as Best as possible. I have been writing about Various ways of Therapies to Become Well” And today I am writing about The Therapies itself, just for some who likes pictures that is relaxing on what I will be writing about and with much more Positive feelings at this time of my Life with “Healing Energies I am receiving” 🙂

Main Therapies:

1. Psychoanalytic Therapy:

2. Adlerian Therapy:

3. Existential Therapy:

4. Person Centered Therapy:

5. Gestalt Therapy:

6. Behavior Therapy:

7. Cognitive Behavior Therapy:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): A present-focused, structured approach to changing thoughts and behaviors. Unlike Gestalt’s free-flowing style, CBT sessions follow a set agenda (often with homework tasks). The CBT therapist is more directive and coach-like, whereas a Gestalt therapist guides awareness through creative exercises (e.g. the empty-chair roleplay technique).
  • Person-Centered Therapy: Focuses on the client’s current feelings and personal growth, similar to Gestalt’s present focus. However, person-centered therapy is completely non-directive and technique-free, relying on empathy and unconditional positive regard. This contrasts with Gestalt’s use of active interventions and guided self-exploration.
  • Behavior Therapy: Centers on changing behavior through conditioning techniques like exposure or reinforcement. It is more directive and goal-oriented than Gestalt, prioritizing observable behavior change over self-awareness. The therapist in behavior therapy functions like a trainer, in contrast to Gestalt’s experiential, awareness-focused approach.

A Take-Home Message
We all have the capacity to adapt and to achieve our personal expectations. we raise the bar in relation to our own potential and push ourselves to achieve Higher things. Effectiveness of Adlerian Theory Recent studies have also supported Adler’s belief in the importance of the therapeutic relationship. The therapeutic alliance has been shown to affect treatment outcomes across a range of conditions, therapeutic modalities, and contexts. In other words, a greater sense of social connectedness rooted in caring for others, connecting with the community, and finding a sense of purpose is linked to improved mental health and well-being. Love!

Hello to, All My Dear Readers, Followers and My Blogging Friends ❤

I started this blog in September 2015, mainly to spread the messages on Good Health. My main intention was to make You the reader feel “More Positive” and to have that “Faith and Hope” so that you can reach up and make ‘Yourselves Better and Happier”. I kept My Faith and succeeded in My Life. The Beautiful thing is” I have achieved what I wanted through Faith. And then next post was Joy and now “Love” ❤

When it comes to love, some people would say it is one of the most important human emotions. Love is a set of emotions and behaviors characterized by intimacy, passion, and commitment. It involves care, closeness, protectiveness, attraction, affection, and trust. Many say it’s not an emotion in the way we typically understand them, but an essential physiological drive.

Love is a physiological motivation such as hunger, thirst, sleep. There are countless songs, books, poems, and other works of art about love (you probably have one in mind as we speak!). Yet despite being one of the most studied behaviors, it is still the least understood. For example, researchers debate whether love is a biological or cultural phenomenon. How Do You Know You’re Feeling Love for Someone? What are some of the signs of love? Researchers have made distinctions between feelings of liking and loving another person.

It is said Romantic love is made up of three elements:

  • Attachment: Needing to be with another person and desiring physical contact and approval
  • Caring: Valuing the other person’s happiness and needs as much as your own
  • Intimacy: Sharing private thoughts, feelings, and desires with the other person
While people tend to view people they like as pleasant, love is marked by being devoted, possessive, and confiding in one another.

Are There Different Types of Love?

Yup—not all forms of love are the same, and psychologists have identified a number of different types of love that people may experience.

These types of love include:

  • Friendship: This type of love involves liking someone and sharing a certain degree of intimacy.
  • Infatuation: This form of love often involves intense feelings of attraction without a sense of commitment; it often takes place early in a relationship and may deepen into a more lasting love.
  • Passionate love: This type of love is marked by intense feelings of longing and attraction; it often involves an idealization of the other person and a need to maintain constant physical closeness.
  • Compassionate/companionate love: This form of love is marked by trust, affection, intimacy, and commitment.

Is Love Influenced By Biology or Culture?

Love is most likely influenced by both biology and culture. Although hormones and biology are important, the way we express and experience love is also influenced by our own conceptions of love.

Some researchers suggest that love is a basic human emotion just like happiness or anger, while others believe that it is a cultural phenomenon that arises partly due to social pressures and expectations. Research has found that romantic love exists in all cultures, which suggests that love has a strong biological component. It is a part of human nature to seek out and find love. However, culture can significantly affect how individuals think about, experience, and display romantic love.

Is Love an Emotion?

Many say it’s not an emotion in the way we typically understand them, but an essential physiological drive. On the other hand, the American Psychological Association defines it as “a complex emotion.” Still, others draw a distinction between primary and secondary emotions and put love in the latter category, maintaining that it derives from a mix of primary emotions.

Type of LoveComponents
 Friendship Intimacy
 Infatuation Passion
 Empty Commitment
 Romantic Intimacy, passion
 Companionate Intimacy
 Fatuous Commitment, passion
 Consummate Intimacy, compassion, commitment

How to Show Love to Another Person

There is no single way to practice love. Every relationship is unique, and each person brings their own history and needs. Some things that you can do to show love to the people you care about include:

  • Be willing to be vulnerable.
  • Be willing to forgive.
  • Do your best and be willing to apologize when you make mistakes.
  • Let them know that you care.
  • Listen to what they have to say.
  • Prioritize spending time with the other person.
  • Reciprocate loving gestures and acts of kindness.
  • Recognize and acknowledge their good qualities.
  • Share things about yourself.
  • Show affection.
  • Make it unconditional.

How Love Impacts Your Mental Health

Love, attachment, and affection have an important impact on well-being and quality of life. Loving relationships have been linked to:

  • Lower risk of heart disease
  • Decreased risk of dying after a heart attack7
  • Better health habits
  • Increased longevity
  • Lower stress levels
  • Less depression

Tips for Cultivating Love

Lasting relationships are marked by deep levels of trust, commitment, and intimacy. Some things that you can do to help cultivate loving relationships include:

  • Try loving-kindness meditation. Loving-kindness meditation is a technique often used to promote self-acceptance and reduce stress, but it has also been shown to promote a variety of positive emotions and improve interpersonal relationships. involves meditating while thinking about a person you love or care about, concentrating on warm feelings and your desire for their well-being and happiness.
  • Communicate. Everyone’s needs are different. The best way to ensure that your needs and your loved one’s needs are met is to talk about them. Helping another person feel loved involves communicating that love to them through words and deeds. Some ways to do this include showing that you care, making them feel special, telling them they are loved, and doing things for them.
  • Tackle conflict in a healthy way. Never arguing is not necessarily a sign of a healthy relationship—more often than not, it means that people are avoiding an issue rather than discussing it. Rather than avoid conflict, focus on hashing out issues in ways that are healthy

History of Love

Only fairly recently has love to become the subject of science. In the past, the study of love was left to “the creative writer to depict for us the necessary conditions for loving,” according to Sigmund Freud. “In consequence, it becomes inevitable that science should concern herself with the same materials whose treatment by artists has given enjoyment to mankind for thousands of years, Research on love has grown tremendously since Freud’s remarks.
